Welcome back to another edition of "What's going on with the Fishers!" I am your host, Jay, and I'll be guiding you through the events of the past month.
*Pause for obligatory audience clapping*
But before we get into it, I want to tell you that there will be a special, big announcement at the end of the show. So stick around to hear about it.
*Audience gasps and whoas*
The end of September is where we left you off last month with a riveting cliffhanger. It was a cliffhanger.... Wasn't it? Uhhhh, anyway the end of September found us getting things organized and deep cleaned around campus. Kate has been getting the team communications all organized and up to date and I have been rearranging and organizing our maintenance depot. Things are getting clean and tidy around here in preparation for our large trailer of supplies coming in the next couple months.
One huge area that got clean and tidy was our kitchen. We took a day as a staff body and cleaned out our campus kitchen. We literally took everything except appliances, stoves, sinks, and tables out of the kitchen and washed all of it. If You name it, we washed it.
Serving Trays? Check.
Napkin Holders? Check.
People foolish enough to give any of our staff a hose? Check.
Avocado Slicers? Che... Wait, we actually don't have any of those. We slice our avocados with knives like normal people.
Then, we washed the entire kitchen from top to bottom. Ceilings, walls, and floors. By the end of the day our kitchen was brighter and our clothes were soaked. Isaac and Evie weren't impressed with the happenings though. Just look at those faces.
he does, the words he's trying to say, and the way he imitates a mountain goat.
We also celebrated Evalina's 3rd birthday just last week on the 30th! She is a strong, independent princess if there ever was one, except when she's not. Which may be at the oddest times. It's really hard to tell with 2-3 year olds. She has a huge fascination with all things Moana, princess, and unicorn. She has also been medicine free for the past few months and no sign of any seizures coming back!
Ladies and Gentlemen!
*Audience starts rhythmic stomping and clapping*
Welcome to the main event!
*Techno sounds start to play during dramatic pause*
Let's get ready to RUMMMMMMMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
*Audience goes wild while "Let's get ready to rumble" by the Jock Jams plays over the speakers*
Ok we aren't actually rumbling, but we are so pumped up to announce that YWAM Port de Paix is officially taking off! You can find us at www.ywamportofpeace.com or on Facebook and Instagram. Don't worry, we haven't moved up there yet, but we are waist deep in planning, scheduling, filing papers, and most important of all, praying.
The DTS next year will take place here in St. Marc, with the outreach being primarily aimed at the city of Port-de-Paix. We will be looking at some of the students and staff from that school being the official pioneer team that goes with us in the Fall of 2020. That's right folks, Fall 2020 the Fisher family will be putting in a change of address (They don't exist in Haiti, but the analogy still holds) and heading off to the place that God has been preparing us for these past 8 years or so. Watch out world, YWAM PdP missionaries will be advancing the Kingdom of God in your general direction.
