So much has happened since the last update!
Sooo..... Firstly, we found out the sex of our baby! Here is a fun reveal we did for my brothers and sisters....
Its a boy!!!!!!!
Jay and I DO have a name picked out, but for now we are keeping it a secret.... Its not anything tooo crazy ;)
Little man has been moving like crazy! He like to dance, just like his momma! See:
I am 27 weeks today, just on the tail end of my second trimester, and I am feeling great! Dancing has helped keep me in shape, and God has been gracious in helping me stay as active as I have been ( I was able to dance in our concert at 23 weeks!)
Speaking of dance, I had the privilege of putting together the bible studies for this past session of His School and was blown away by the book we were going through. It is called Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper. (You can find links to read the book online here). To summarize the book, Piper basically takes different aspects of Jesus, some we don't usually think about, and explains them with many biblical references. It was kind of cool to see and think about Jesus as something other than "that nice guy who came to save the world". When you think of it that way, it seems almost sarcastic and impersonal, which is sadly how much of the world treats Jesus these days. Through writing this study I was faced with the reality that I really took Jesus and all that he was and all that he came for for granted. A very humbling thought indeed. I could spend a million posts explaining what I learned, but I wont (at least not now!) I would HIGHLY recommend this book. HIGHLY.
Ok, moving on...
Jay has been crazy busy lately with work and teaching at with 186k (Our youth group at Family Worship Center) At work he has been doing a lot of overtime, which is good for the projects he is working on, and great for the paycheck, but not so great when it come to having a normal 5 day work week. BUT he is a hard worker and these weekends working wont last much longer (Thank goodness!)
For 186k he has been going through 1st John with the middle schoolers on Wednesday nights. He does such a great job , and he really has a heart for those kids! He is such a far cry from the quiet boy I met six years ago. I am so proud in how far he has come with his faith and his ability to share God's word with some of those who need to hear it most! Please keep him in prayer as he continues to grow!
One last thing I want to mention before I head off to bed...
We (finally) sent in our application for YWAM Haiti!!!!
One big step closer to Haiti!!! SO EXCITED!!
