Welcome to fall! I hope it is cooling down quickly wherever you are (or warming up if you are on the other side of the world?) Here, its still HOT, but slowly cooling down. The only reason I can tell this is true is due to the lessening amount of sweat on my face by the end of the day. For this I have been thanking God many many times!
Our Time in The US
We had a wonderful time back in the sates from mid July to the beginning of September! Here are a few highlights:
To start off our time in the US, we visited Evie’s neurologist, to see if she could start being taken off of her anti-seizeure medication. After some tests and reviews by her doctor, we are so very happy to say, Evie is med free!! She has been off of her medication for a month now, and it is WONDERFUL! Her eyes are a bit brighter, her cranky ways have diminished, and in its wake, we have seen an extremely imaginative 2 (almost 3!!) year old girl!
Isaac is growing up! He was able to celebrate his very first birthday in the US, and we worked hard to make it special. He was also able to get his very first “big boy” passport where the picture actually looks like him (not the froggy 6 week old version of himself)
Speaking in our hometown. As usual we were able to connect with our home church and supporting churches. We shared what God has been doing here in Haiti, as well as teaching multiple times in the youth group.
If you browse through our photos below, you can see more fun things we did while visiting family.
On to September!
On the first of September, while we were still in America, Jay and I celebrated our sixth anniversary. We had a fun day as a family exploring downtown Denver as a family, and going out to dinner together. I am happy to report that even though the honeymoon phase is WAAAYYY over, we are still in as much (if not more) love than we were when we were first married.
After our 7 week stay in the US, we were very ready to be home!
The 10th was a very special day indeed. Not only did I celebrate my birthday, but Isaac and Evie started school! This is the first time we have officially started a school year in September! Isaac is in kindergarten and learning how to read (He is doing fantastic! We were reading “Hop on Pop” today!) And Evie is doing early pre-school. I am so proud of them so far, and it is a privilege to be their teacher!
This September has mostly been dedicated to catching up on things from our break, and preparing the campus for the upcoming teams.
Next year, Jay and I are leading the next Discipleship Training School! We had our first meeting this past week, and are already so excited to see what God is going to be doing with this school! As of now, we are the only ones on staff for the school, but we are praying and asking God to lead us to the right people to complete our team. Stay tuned for more updates!
