Hello all! Its been a bit of time since I have written an update, so I decided to give Jay a break this month.
rewind to 2016
As Jay said before, we were heading to the Dominican Republic for our good friend Sarah's wedding. It was wonderful, and very tiring! The YWAM Haiti crew worked very hard setting up the reception area to make a beautiful scene! We were all to happy to be able to help with such a wonderful occasion. On New Years eve, we didn't do to much, and I was so tired that I went to bed early. The life of a parent, right?
And forward on to 2017
2017 has been busy so far! The whole campus has been bustling around. From meetings, to cleaning the base, to catching up on emails and hosting our very first team of 2017, We are just now catching our breath!
The first weekend in 2017 we invited our three newest staff member and some others over to learn how to make and to experience the amazingness that is fish tacos a la Fisher/Willer. It was such a fun evening and it brought an awesome feeling of unity to those who came to eat, and those who joined us afterwards for movie night (we may have had a blow up lightsaber/pillow fight before the movie as well, it was awesome)
The First Team of the year...... PA Mercy Works
As always, the first team we host every year is a very large group from Pennsylvania, and they ALWAYS go above and beyond to bless our staff and community. I think the best way to get a grasp on all that they did within the span of 7 days is just to list everything:
Anyway, this team left this past Wednesday and we have spent the last few days recovering from the whirlwind of activity.
Coming into this new year, I feel like God is giving us as a family a new perspective on what is really important, and what He is leading us into. 2016 wasn't the easiest year for our family, and I feel like it wasn't easy for a lot of people, BUT why do we need to dwell on the difficulties of the past and how horrible they were, when you can instead look at where those difficult times have brought you and at the person you have become because of them. So, the Fisher family is looking forward. Looking forward to the promises God has given us, and we (Patiently!) anticipate the things he has for us in our future. We will try to not get focused on the little things that stress us out, but instead to broadly look into the big picture!
Hope your 2017 has gone well, and that your will be blessed like crazy in the days to come!
P.S. We are having new prayer cards made! If you would like one, go ahead and shoot us your address!
