Missionaries are complicated in the tax world: residency, citizenship, self-employed, donations, income and more are all questions we get to wrestle with and each with its associated IRS form. The IRS reviewed our tax papers from 2014 and determined we didn't fill them out correctly. We correctly did not owe any income tax, but they determined we owe self-employment tax. Our tax documents weren't filled out like we were self employed (our fault, but now we know. Hurray for quarterly tax estimates!). We are confident that we won't owe much after going through and amending our return to reflect our self employed status, but as of now they are requesting $1,500. We will be paying that full amount now and then sending in our amended return in hopes of getting most of that refunded. We will have to send in an amended 2015 return as well as we filled that out the same way. Pray that we can get this all sorted out and that maybe we can even find a kind CPA willing to help us get this all straightened out .
Prayer that through this IRS issue that we still have enough money to purchase plane tickets and and money for staying in the US when we come for Evie's cardiologist appointment and a family visit

Pray that God directs us to the next steps of making YWAM Port-de-paix a reality
